Group Fitness Spotlight: INFUSE your routine with Cardio

We are still building up our new 12:10 pm formats, but
the
decision to move away from traditional step aerobics seems
to have been an effective one. Although you may still see
and use the step bench on Wednesdays at 12:10 in the
gymnasium, the goal of Cardio Fusion is to increase your
heart rate and burn calories through multiple styles of
cardio-based exercise.
Instructor Matthew Nixon, who also leads Boot Camp,
Body Conditioning and Kickboxing, courageously took on the
new class when all we had was a name for it. “I envisioned
it to be a mix of jumping rope, kickboxing, plyometrics,
calisthenics and some fun drills so that’s what I tried. It
seems to be going extremely well, but I’d love to see even
more people attending.”

If you are interested in this 45-minute lunch time
class but have not yet attended, Matthew has some pointers:
“If you are looking for a class that is fun and
challenging that will get your heart pumping and your
muscles burning, this is the class for you. Just get ready
to work hard and sweat your butt off!” (Of course, he says
this with an encouraging smile.) |
