When you thrive on group
exercise, the YMCA is the place to be. Qualified staff are available to help you
find a class that best suits you and your needs. Our class schedules are designed with the members' needs
in mind, and we're constantly seeking ways to better serve our members through
group fitness.
Group
Fitness Classes
AB-Solution
Moderate to
advanced class - modifications can be made for new participants. This workout
focuses on strengthening abdominals and lower back muscles. Participants, use
dumbbells, medicine balls, stability balls, and a BOSU ball.
Aerobic Kickboxing
Participants will learn proper form of kicks and punches used in kickboxing.
This class involves fighting moves choreographed to music, cardio training,
fighting combinations, proper breathing, balancing, etc.
Body Conditioning
An overall body shaping, toning and firming class. Both upper and lower body are emphasized during this fitness workout.
Boot Camp
Easy-to-follow drills and calisthenics to challenge all fitness levels. Class combines high intensity cardio,
interval training and strength conditioning in a fast-paced, interactive
structure.
Box and Sculpt
This pumped up class incorporates boxing training movements with choreographed
kicks and punches, followed by a body conditioning segment.
Cardio Circuit
This aerobic workout includes basic steps and rhythmic movements for the upper
and lower body, a total body workout. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing, and
balls offer additional muscular conditioning. (Second level of Fit for Seniors.)
Core Blast
This class includes innovative exercises designed to strengthen the abdominal,
oblique and lower back muscles.

Cycle Circuit
If you like Spinning, but want a bit more, this is for you. Cardio cycling
segments are alternated with strength training intervals, and the class
concludes with ab work.
Double Step
A step aerobics workout in which each participant uses two platforms instead of one. Not recommended for beginning participants.
Extreme Cardio Flex
A non-choreographed, high-intensity, high-energy
cardiovascular workout followed by a total body strength workout. Great to do
both classes for an extreme time or just one portion for a quick strength
workout.
Fit for Seniors
Move through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength,
range of motion and flexibility. Hand-held weights, elastic bands, and balls are
offered for resistance, and a chair for balance.
Hip Hop Fit
Hip hop fitness is the perfect way to
express yourself while toning up and getting a cardio workout. Don’t be
intimidated if you don’t consider yourself a “dancer” – the instructor breaks
down the choreography into short segments until you have learned an entire
routine. If you’re looking for an upbeat social environment, great music, and
funky new moves that will make you sweat, then hip hop fitness is for you!
Kids Cardio
Series of stretching and warm-up, yoga stances, relay games, balancing, variety
of jump rope skills, hand and foot coordination skills, and other agility moves.
Kids will learn the importance of good nutrition for life.
Low Impact
A low impact class for the beginner, active older adult, or individuals at high risk for injury designed to help maintain flexibility, coordination, muscle strength and to relieve stress.
Muscle Works
This class is taught by personal trainers who will put your body through a different strength workout each week.

Pilates
Pilates is a physical training regimen based on the body in its most natural
state -- in motion. This unique exercise system gives rapid, lasting benefits: a
leaner, sculpted body, elongated muscles, increased core strength, improved
posture, and a wonderful sense of well being. This class welcomes beginners who
are able to move around on the floor and can advance as you are ready.
SilverSneakers
Move through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular
strength, range of motion and flexibility. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing,
and balls are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for balance.
Spinning
The Spinning program is an indoor cycling fitness program that simulates an outdoor cycling ride through various terrain and at varying speeds,
all to individually chosen soundtracks. Participants used an adjustable
resistance knob on a fixed-gear stationary bicycle to control their own
intensity. Our program emphasizes energy zones, with different rides focusing on endurance, strength and interval training.

Step
Participants use adjustable platforms while performing a series of simple upper body movements. Both beginners and conditioned athletes can participate in the same workout. Step is designed to minimize stress to the joints while strengthening your cardiovascular fitness.
Teen Kickboxing
Participants will practice techniques on jab, reverse jab, hook, punch, upper
cuts, high/low punches, etc. Learn to use combinations, series of kicks, cardio
circuit training, push-ups, jump ropes, sit-ups, boxing drills, kicking drills,
footwork, shadow boxing, etc.
Treadmill Trek
A group treadmill class led by a fitness staff member that allows members to
complete a different 30-minute interval program each week. Participants can
choose to run or walk during any program. It is open to all fitness levels.
Yoga
All aspects of yoga lead to the goal of healthy body and balanced, harmonious state of being. In yoga, asanas (postures) are practiced to strengthen and enliven the body. Other advantages include improved muscle tone, increased joint flexibility, improved circulation.
Zumba
A "fitness party" that fuses Latin rhythms and dynamic interval training for a
total body strength and cardio workout with an energizing and dance-like appeal.
